Our company was founded as an importer of tobacco related products in 1950. The company founder, Sotiris Fotopoulos, a born Athenian and a restless spirit, discovered early on his love for commerce. At a young age he began to trade various goods in the Greek market initially, but before long his cosmopolitan spirit drove him to travel all over Europe in order to seek quality goods that were at that time not yet available in the Greek market.
In 1950 his ventures brought him to Italy where he came in contact with SAVINELLI, thus earmarking the beginning of a relationship that has lasted so far for more than 5 decades, amidst great effort, faith and loyalty. Sotiris’s motto has always been that “nothing is impossible if there is will and coordinated effort”.
Thus, the world famous SAVINELLI pipes and smoking accessories entered the Greek market and became closely associated with the company, being the most sought after tobacco pipes in Greece.
With great persistence, hard work and personal involvement, a strong sales and dealer network was soon formed, and very soon the brand became well known all over mainland Greece and the islands.
At the same time the company became active in the import and distribution of various gift and accessories, in collaboration with various international manufacturers, mainly from Germany. With the passage of time, the company grew stronger and stronger by offering great product variety and unsurpassed service to its customers.
Nancy Fotopoulou, the daughter of Sotiris and also born and bred in Athens, following her studies in Economics and Business, decided to follow the family tradition in 1989 and entered the business full of ambition and fresh ideas. She now runs the company from its owned premises in Alimos, an Athens suburb by the sea.
Today the company is one of the preeminent importers and distributors in the country, specializing in tobacco and smoker related products representing exclusively major international brands in the Greek market. Main brands are SAVINELLI pipes and smokers accessories, XIKAR cigar accessories, and CHACOM pipes.
In the gifts market the company also commands a prime position by being the exclusive distributor of world famous PHILIPPI products and accessories of Hamburg, Germany.
In 2014 we gained exclusive rights of distribution for another great brand of gift products from Germany, TROIKA.
Further to these the company imports an additional great variety of leather ware, key rings, office and travel sets and home accessories from all over the world.
Recently FOTOPOULOU has launched in the market its own brand of handmade leather rolling tobacco pouches, MESTANGO. These products are designed and handcrafted in Greece, especially for our company, and are currently exported to most major European markets and Japan.
